Celebrations for the Emperor's Birthday in the District of Botzen

Botzen, 6 March. The inhabitants of the district of Botzen also vied with the inhabitants of the other districts of this province to celebrate the most august birthday of His Majesty on the 12th of last month in the most solemn manner, and to display in an unfeigned manner the most heartfelt feelings of deepest reverence, most loyal attachment, and boundless love towards His Highest Self. In all deaneries and parishes, solemn high masses were held. Led by the local authorities, numerous inhabitants streamed everywhere into the temples of God, and their devout prayer poured out in the most ardent blessings upon the adored monarch, accompanied by the most earnest wishes for the greatest happiness and welfare of Himself and His most august family. In some places, charitable donations gave an even higher consecration to the celebration of the joyful day.
